IJFA Web Site

The company that provided the web site for the Illawarra Junior Football Association has withdrawn its support and closed the old IJFA web site. A new, temporary, web site has been set up at:

ijfa.thirroulfootball.com.au

Team Photos

The team photos were completed last week with 32 teams photographed on Wednesday and Thursday, last week. The Club would like to thank Jenny Barber, Kathleen Hewes and Gai Orvad for there assistance in recording details and organising teams over the two nights. Also photographer Merissa Carter for making herself available to photograph the couple of teams who didn't make the planned sessions.

2008 Presentation Day

Planning is well underway for our 2008 Presentation Day, details will be posted as soon as they are finalised. However, there are a couple things that need to happen now. They are:

Perpetual Trophies

All perpetual trophies need to be returned to the club. They can be returned to the canteen on match days or delivered directly to the Secretary or Registrar.

Player Profiles

For Presentation Day we traditionally produce a souvenir Newsletter with Player Profiles for each team. So its time to get started, if you are not sure how to go about it have a look in the Junior's section 2007 Archive under Graded Teams or Roo Ball, there's plenty of examples there. Profiles can be emailed to sitemgr@thirroulfootball.com.au , left in the Match Reports pigeon hole in the clubhouse or posted to:

Competition Changes

The IJFA has decided to makes changes to the draws for 5, 6, 7 & 8 Team competitions to try to have teams actually play each other at least twice in the season. To allow this to happen the following changes have been made to play some of the competition rounds that were washed out earlier in the season. The list of changes is set out below

Please check your competition draw for match location and time changes

WHERE ARE YOUR MATCH REPORTS?

In the last few weeks the number of match reports being received for publication on the website has dropped noticeably. Sure it can be a bit hard to know what to say, especially if the team has had a bad day, but the players deserve the opportunity to see their team and hopefully themselves in print. The report doesn't have to be the "Great Australian Novel", just a few word about the match and outstanding performances. Have a look at previous examples as a guide, but most importantly have a go and send us something.

If possible match reports should be e-mailed to the Web Site Manager. Alternately hard copy reports can be left in the mach reports pigeon hole in the clubhouse.

SEASON BEGINS

It was a fine and sunny Saturday morning and Gibson Park was a hive of activity as the 2008 season got underway. Good luck to all our teams competing in Roo Ball and Graded Junior competitions.
