The 2007 Presentation Day was held on Sunday 23 September, at Bulli High School hall, followed by fun, food and foolishness - here's a few samples of the day.

Fun

For the youngsters there was the jumping castle and ride

For the more energetic a scratch football match

Food

The BBQ seemed to be a popular place, and the Bacon and Egg sandwiches were tasty and filling.

Foolishness

What else but the Presidents XI (plus a few) Vs the Under 18s. After an absorbing struggle, the Under 18s ran out winners 4 (or was it 5) - 0.

DOG CATCHER EXTRAORDINAIRE

Just a little note on the daily duties of the referees at Gibson Park Thirroul.

Refereeing Staff rostered on Saturday 24 June 2007 showed devotion beyond the call of duty in containing an unwanted and disruptive visitor.  Mid-morning games were disrupted when a 40kg Golden Labrador, who had an addiction to chasing soccer balls, run rampant halting play on both fields.  Initally the under 9's fixture was the first victim with play stopped and Kahlia Lane taking chase.  Joao Olivera-Woolmer and Mathew Barber decided to get in on the act and took chase.  With the dog setting a cracking pace Mat and Jaoa had to put the big ones in.  Mat dived and missed, Jaoa dived and missed. Then they both dived together and missed.

By now the entire crowd of spectators were watching on. Not to be beaten by a dog Mat got up, chased and lunged, bringing the dog down.  The crowd erupted into cheers and applause as the dog was lead away and tied up. Mat was approached by many spectators with handshakes and congratulations. However, just when you thought it was safe to play soccer again the dog escaped and was straight back into action again chasing the soccer ball. By now Kahlia was really annoyed and chased with such determination right across the other field.  Mat had to stop play and take chase yet again. He pounced on the unexpecting pooch with the best tackle yet and they both rolled on the ground together with the dog giving a yelp.  Mat then proceeded to pat and reassure the dog that everything was alright, fearing he may have injured the animal.  So once again the dog was lead away and this time locked up behind bars.

THE END
