Player Profiles

Tara Hennessy Goal Keeper/ Midfield, Tara had a great season, building great confidence and skill in goal and letting through very few and pulling off some great saves, and sustaining only minor injuries!  When not in goal she was able to be a useful midfielder and has good ball control skills and sense of the run of play.

Rachel Hennessy Midfield/Goal Keeper, Rachel played midfield and relieved Tara in goal through the season.  She has a good ability to take on the attacking players, getting possession and bundling the ball on for our forwards.  he has a good deal determination that worked well in building our teamwork through the season.

Samantha French Back/Sweeper, Sammy is a reliable defender and a solid. part of the team for the last few seasons.  She has kept up her fitness and speed and you can rely on her to chase down any breakaways from the opposition.  Her abilities allow the team to tum the game around and bring on an attacking move.

Sophie Gibb Forward/Midfield, Sophie has excellent fitness and can out-run the opposition defenders in their attacking moves and scored some very useful goals again this season.  She showed how she can take up the opportunities set up by the midfielders and the defence, with her speed and agility.

Kelsey Jackson Back, Kelsey played a dependable role in the team as one of the backs and got some forward runs and shots at goal in this season.  Her signature shot has become the big clearing kick and her ability to chase a ball through a bunch of midfield opposition players was put to good use this season.  Her height and power and agility built up from netball helped again this year.

Lyndal Causero Midfield, Lyndal had a great first season with the Thirroul girls in 2007. She was a great contributor to the run of play with her throws ins, dynamite kick and ability with using free kicks and corners to set up and score goals.  Her powerful game, team spirit and energy made her a valuable member of the team.

Emma Joubert Midfield,  Emma showed her abilities in her runs through the opposition in mid field and cutting off the attackers in falling back for defence.  She increased her skills through the season with improved ball control and fitness, showing some excellent moves chasing down the opposition in mid-field and getting effective passes forward.

Clare Rickards Forward/Midfield, Clare is always fit and helpful in a key role in the team training and taking every opportunity to help build up the teamwork.  She can set up a move through the opposition players with fancy footwork, speed and experience being a great help. She can use the opportunities from corners and score goals and help set up her team mates for scoring opportunities.

Ruby Owen Midfield/Forward,  Ruby worked more into a forward attacking role this season and got in shots at goal and scored on some occasions.  Her skills in ball control and passing have continued to improve and she worked well with Clare on the game tactics and control of the run of play.

Keonie Budai- Midfield/Defender, Keonie's brave approach to tackling the ball, the big kick and throw-ins showed how much she enjoys the game.  Her ability to run through the opposition and get control in the midfield and her hard tackles worked really well for the team.

Georgia Littler  Back, Georgia was very confident in moving play down the wings and is a reliable Back.  Her determined ability to keep up a fast pace and her fast footwork, long throw-ins and speed meant she could be relied on to set up attacking moves and chase down the opponents as a key part of the team.

Kayleigh Reid Midfield/Back/Attack, Kayleigh showed how useful her speed and determination was to the team this season.  She has continued to improve her ball control her skills could move as needed back into defence or up into attack.  Her powerful kick helped those moves down the wing and she got in some good shots at goal.

Tamlyn Rigden- Mid field /Attack/Defence, Tamlyn's ball control skills are very useful to the team, with determined running and chasing through the opposition and swiftly moving down the field.  She scored some well placed goals and was a really versatile part of the teamwork this year.

Belinda Schipp Mid field/ Attack, Belinda's speed in attack and ability to score goals was a great asset to the team this year and her speed in attacking runs was a great tactic.  She was very useful in turning some of those goal mouth melees into scoring opportunities.

Janaya Gutner Midfield,  Janaya has excellent ball control skills and can get in a good strong shot at goal.  Her fitness through the season and determination in chasing down the opponents in the mid-field and working the ball forward to the Thirroul attackers was a great asset to the team. She is a really important part of the team spirit that built up this year.

Emily Ritchie Mid field/Back,  Emily shows every time how much she enjoys the game and her runs down the wing and crosses to the goal was a real contributor to the mix of skills the girls built up this year.  She has a good sense of the run of play and can set up attacking moves and her keenness in fitting into the teamwork that built up this year made her a very valuable player in the 2007 season.
