Player Profiles
Matthew Baker: Amazing acceleration and deceptive speed. There was hardly an attacker in the competition that couldn't be run down by Matt. In every game that Matt played, the team lifted with the knowledge that he was taking a lot of the burden in defence.
Zach Biddulph: Full of energy, never gives up. Zach "punches way above his weight" giving players twice his size a good run for their money. A very good communicator, who was constantly talking the team up and doing whatever job that had to be done.
Daniel Bond: Showed himself to be a very fine field player. Quite capable of scoring goals and menacing opposition defenders. Daniel never gives up and has a huge amount of energy. Helped the team by playing in goals when needed. A major driving force, and a great asset to the team.
Taylor Davis: Has amazing speed and endurance. Made many breaks down the wings and also ran down many opposition attackers. Could put in a whole seventy minutes at full speed and not faulter. Sent in crosses that resulted in goals and was generally a force to be reckoned with on the field.
Jack Dimovski: Loved the game and put a great deal of effort into everything that he did. Determined in defence, he would not give up, regardless of the size or aggression of his opponent. Unfortunately Jack didn't finish the season with us and was missed.
Matthew Dyson: Matt would take on any role that he was asked to take on. As sweeper, he was exceptionally good at communicating, keeping our defenders up in line and pulling the "off side trap" countless times. In midfield he would never stop, changing from defensive to attacking roles effortlessly and was always a danger to opposition defenders.
Jack Francis: Very strong and determined. Jack can play in any position and adapts well to whatever job he is asked to do. In attack he can pop out of nowhere to take opposition defenders by surprise and create havoc in front of their goal. In defence, he uses his height and strength to great advantage and is a key member of the team.
Matthew Goulding: Very fast and dedicated player who has the acceleration and speed to out run opposition forwards. Matthew occasionally lacks confidence in his own ability but when the chips are down Matthew has shown that he can produce the goods and be competitive with the best.
Michael Harwood: Very versatile player. Strong in attack and highly skilled, Michael loves the game and has the potential to be a top class player. He has shown determination and commitment. In only his second year in the team he has developed a good relationship with everyone and has become a key player who never gives up and gives maximum effort throughout the game.
Harry Hodda: Heart and soul of the team, produced some fine, goal-saving defensive headers. Harry really loves the game and quite regularly would front up to get a run with our 18s after his own game. He is very focussed and dedicated, and also put in a great deal towards the coaching of the team. He completed his Junior Licence Coaching Course this year.
Andrew Hodgins: Coming back after a year off and playing his first year in 1 Division football, Andrew lifted very quickly to the speed and intensity required, pulling off many fine saves with desperate speed and strength to get into position and clear the ball away. His improvement continued throughout the season and he became one of the key players in the defence.
Michael Maurer: Playing as sweeper, which was not his favoured position, Michael was the backbone of the defence. His tireless effort and "never give up" attitude were a great inspiration to the team. Michael's huge clearance kicks and coolness under pressure showed hallmarks of a quality player with great potential.
Declan O'Driscoll: Very fast and versatile, a tireless worker who can put in full effort for the whole seventy minutes. A strong defender who can run down opposition forwards. He is also an attacker who can make fast breaks down the wings and put in good crosses to our forwards. Declan was responsible for the lead up work for some of our goals this season.
Sam Robinson: Strong, very skilled mid field player. Sam's commitment and energy were sorely missed by the team when he had to sit out some of this season through injury. Sam has deceptive peed and has the ability to get around opposition players effortlessly. A key member of the team who's presence on the field always creates problems for his opponents.
Brandon Roddis: Great, inspired goal keeper, playing against some of the best 15 year old teams in the state, you'd expect them to score goals. They did, but Brandon still pulled off many exceptional saves with intuitive reactions. He never gave up and was an inspiration to the whole team. In what was a very demanding season for a goalkeeper, Brandon produced some of the most memorable moments, with his instinctive brilliance.
Toby Taylor: Very strong and very fast. Has great shooting power and uses his size well to shield and control the ball. Toby has the ability to get around players and get into good scoring position. Practicing shooting with his left foot would help produce many more goals. He has energy and stamina to burn and can put in maximum effort continually for the whole game.
