Player Profiles
Bhanu Kirkman - Goal Keeper extraordinaire. Bhanus' skills in the goals were excellent. He saved many goals and laid his body on the line for the team. Unfortunately he was injured nearing the end of the season, but still showed up to games, showing his great commitment to the team. Good luck in your future soccer endeavours.
Sam Colbran -Great at organising the backs line up and keeping them focused during the game. He was able to stop many of the more skilful players on the opposing teams, and pulled off some great last minute tackles, preventing the opposing teams from winning.
Jack Parle - First year playing soccer for several years, but despite this became one of the better defenders in the team. He showed great progress in his skills and defensive abilities. Without Jack the team would not have progressed as far as they did.
Cai Gaffney - Cai was another league player that played a great game of football. His running, tackling and kicking skills proved valuable in the back line-up. Cai never gave up in defence and would chase down many of the more determined opposing attackers. Cai surprised the opposition with great footwork.
Josh McLaughlin -Played a great part in the back line-up. His tackling was inspirational and was cause for many of the opposition losing possession of the ball. He was a formidable opponent in the defensive end, stopping many of the attackers dead in their tracks.
Jae Dawes - Played with great confidence and skills in mid field. Jae scored some great goals and was integral in starting many of the attacking plays. Jae controlled the midfield expertly, without him many of our attacks would have been stopped much earlier. Filled in for Bhanu when he was injured, and did a brilliant job. Congratulations on a great season, and we wish you well in your next team.
Thomas King - As part of the team of rnidfielders, Thomas chased the ball down and held the opposition up. Thomas was renowned for his running and chasing down the ball. Between Jae and Thomas it was a formidable mid field. Thomas continued his tradition of scoring at least once during the season.
Jake Evans - Jake played an excellent game in between the mid field and forwards. Scored several great goals and had some bad luck with hitting the post. Jake coming from a running background was extremely fit and could outpace the opposition easily. He continued to run when many of the team would not, and made himself a niche in the attack with his long runs down the wing.
Luke Gardiner - Luke has not played any team sports for several years and this was his first year at football. His skill levels increased tremendously from when he signed up to the last game played. He did some interesting tackles on the opposition, which gave the rest of the team a boost, and some interesting discussion post game.
Holden Davies - Holden played brilliantly in the mid field and was able to feed the forwards with some great passes. A more tricky player, was able to skin many of the oppositions midfield and play off to the strikers. Disappointingly Holden was injured a few times in the season.
Randall Forbes - Led by action, inspiring many of his team mates on when the going was tough, even at one point taking a yellow card for one of them. Coming from a back ground of playing league he made a great utility player in both backs and mid field. Interesting soccer tackling style.
Dane Cirson - Dane played a great part in both the backs and mid fields. Dane would not give up in defence or attacking. Provided the forwards with some great passes. Performed well in the games, and show cased his skills well.
Mitchell Rylands - As part of the strikers pack Mitch was brilliant in working with the other strikers to put Thirroul in a great position for scoring goals. His slide tackles were famous and on many occasions stopped the opposition. Chased down many opposition players when they made a break from their goal line.
Blake Power - As part of the forwards pack Blake was brilliant at keeping the goal keeper on his toes and scored some great goals. Although he was the smallest player on the field generally, this did not stop Blake from out jumping, out muscling and out tricking our rather startled opposition defenders. Made a great team with the midfield and other strikers.
James Crowe - Part of the attacking mid filers come forward Crowey showed great skills in keeping the oppositions backs busy, leaving them with no idea what to do. He was one of the trickier players on the team displaying his skills regularly much to the dismay of our opponents. Unfortunately a knee injury shortened his season dramatically. Heal up soon.
