THIRROUL THUNDER NEWSRound 9 - Thunder TeamsThe Thunder was away again this weekend. In District League it was to Wollongong PCYC to play Wollongong Olympic.First GradeLost 0 - 1Youth GradeLost 1 - 3We came to Wollongong’s home ground full of confidence after the excellent game the week before but this was never going to be an easy game. Things did not start well, a mix up from a back header saw their striker swoop on the loose ball & we were down 1-0 after having the best of the opening few minutes. Then disaster struck, two dubious penalties saw us down by three. The team was extremely frustrated & this frustration led to us not playing to our ability. Half time couldn’t come quick enough. We were able to refocus at half time & go out with a fresh attitude & ended up winning the second half 1-0. This showed real character from the Thunder boys, to have things go so badly against us but still put in a great second half, well done lads.First DivisionDrew 1 - 1First Division continues to fly the flag for the club, this week they were away to yet another Premier League club, Dapto, coming away with a 1 - 1 draw. |
