Round 9 - Thunder Teams

The Thunder was away again this weekend. In District League it was to Wollongong PCYC to play Wollongong Olympic.

First Grade

Lost 0 - 1

Youth Grade

Lost 1 - 3

We came to Wollongong’s home ground full of confidence after the excellent game the week before but this was never going to be an easy game. Things did not start well, a mix up from a back header saw their striker swoop on the loose ball & we were down 1-0 after having the best of the opening few minutes. Then disaster struck, two dubious penalties saw us down by three. The team was extremely frustrated & this frustration led to us not playing to our ability. Half time couldn’t come quick enough. We were able to refocus at half time & go out with a fresh attitude & ended up winning the second half 1-0. This showed real character from the Thunder boys, to have things go so badly against us but still put in a great second half, well done lads.

First Division

Drew 1 - 1

First Division continues to fly the flag for the club, this week they were away to yet another Premier League club, Dapto, coming away with a 1 - 1 draw.
