Master Builders Competition - Round 9

1st Division deferred match - played 26 June
University (1) 5 defeated Thirroul 1
University 1 v Thirroul 1 at 6.30 Friday 26 June Albert Butler Park

Round 8 of the competition was washed out. In round 9 the 1st Division match against University 1 was postponed, 2nd Division drew 1 - 1, while 3rd Division lost 0 - 1.
The draw for all divisions has now been updated to round 10.

Not a good round for the Thunderbirds. 1st Division lost 1 - 2, 2nd Division lost 0 - 1, and 3rd Division lost 0 - 6.

FA Cup Trivia Night

Thirroul Football in conjunction with our club sponsor Thirroul Bowling Club will be holding a Trivia Night to be followed by the screening of the FA Cup on Saturday 30 May
$5 per head

Master Builders Competition - Round 6

Round 6 and good news for the Thunderbirds. 1st Division won 2 - 0, 2nd Division won 4 - 0, only 3rd Division couldn't continue the trend going down 1 - 3.

Round 5 saw mixed results for the Thunderbirds. 1st Division drew 2 - 2, 2nd Division also drew 2 - 2, while 3rd Division lost 0 - 5

Association Cup - Semi-Final

The Thunderbirds 1st Division were unsuccessful in their Association Cup Semi-Final going down 1 - 4 - click here for match report.

Master Builders Competition - Round 4

Round 4 of the main competition and results were generally good. Although 1st Division lost 1 - 2, 2nd Division won 3 - 1 and 3rd Division notched up their first win of the season 4 - 0.

Association Cup - Semi-Final

The Thunderbirds 1st Division team will be playing in the Association Cup Semi-Final next Wednesday - for details click here.

A win will take the Thunderbirds into to the final. The girls will be pumped for a big game with the chance to compete for the Association Cup.
They would appreciate your support so if you can come along in your blue and white and make some noise.

2s kick-off at 9am against Bulli 1
1s kick-off at 11am against Bellambi
3s kick-off at 1pm against Helensburgh 2

Trivia Night

Leah Henderson is organising a Trivia Night fundraiser for her cousin Ben who is riding in the Tour De France, 100km a day for 10 days to raise money for the Heart Foundation.
8 people per table
$20 per person includes finger food
Raffles and prizes throughout the night

Master Builders Competition - Round 3

Round 3 of the Master Builders competition and results were not so good - 1st Division Team lost 2 - 3, 2nd Division Team lost 4 - 1, and 3rd Division team lost 1 - 2.

Master Builders Competition - Round 2

Round 2 of the Master Builders competition saw good results - 1st Division Team won 8 - 1 , 2nd Division Team won 5 - 0 while the 3rd Division team lost 2 - 3.

Training at Gibson Park

In an effort to preserve the goal mouth areas of grounds 1 and 2 they have been roped-off for all but matches. Teams should not use these areas for training.

Association Cup - Quarter Final

The Thunderbirds 1st Division team played Dandaloo on Wednesday 8 April, coming away with a 8 - 0 win - click here for the match report.

The opening round of the Master Builders competition saw mixed results - 1st Division team won 8 - 0, 2nd Division Team drew 3 -3 while the 3rd Division team had a bye.

Division 1 and 2 will participate in an eighteen (18) round combined competition.        
       
Division 3 will participate in an eighteen (18) round separate competition.      

Separate points tables will be kept. 
       
The top four of each division at the completion of the competition will go through to the finals.       
       
       
Finals will consist of Semi Final - 1 v 2(major), 3 v 4(minor)           
Preliminary Final - looser of major v winner of minor    
Grand Final - winner of major v winner of preliminary final     
       
The winner of the final shall be declared Grand Champion and the looser shall be known as Grand Finalists.  

Season Launch

8 pm Friday 3 April - see flyer for details. Looking forward to a strong thunderbird presence!! If you could rsvp and give your money to your coach / manager / Danielle (the secretary) by the end of the weekend that would be most appreciated.  And yes the rumours are true.. The night will include the unveiling of the first ever... official... 'Thunderbird Cocktail'!! It will be blue.. It will be delicious... Make sure you're there to try it!! (...your first is free!!)

Club Shirts

This year the club is updating the women's club shirts (the shirts for before and after the games). The new shirts will be the same design as those that were handed out at presentation last year- a much more flattering / feminine design ;) Jenny Barber (Clothing Store Manager) has placed an order for a sample of each size. When those come in she'll be down to size us up and take orders. Cost will be around $40... well worth it! (and kind of compulsory if you don't already have an old one..)

Sweat Bands

A new batch of thunderbird sweeties has been ordered and will be available in the next few weeks. This year we'll be selling them at cost price (about $5-6). If you'd like to pre pay leave your name with Amy Ziebell. Otherwise, when they will be available at training and games. Remember.. they're not just for players... but a must for any thunderbird fan!!

Association Cup Round 2

Both the 1st and 3rd Division teams have gone through to the second round and will be playing this Sunday, 29 March, at Ocean Park, Woonona - see the Association Cup page for details

Clothing Store

The club clothing store will be open on a Thursday afternoon between 4:00 and 6:00 PM, until further notice at the club house Gibson Park Thirroul. All Junior and Thunder/Thunderbirds items are available or can be ordered. The clothing coordinator has advised that a new order of shorts has been received, there are now plenty in stock. Also, we keep limited stocks of some specialty items, such as club jackets, it may be necessary to order these items.

Bonnie Lassie Cup

The Thunderbirds 1st and 2nd Division teams contested the cup competition with mixed results, 1st Division made it through to the semifinals, while the 2nd Division were eliminated in the round robin - click here for more details.

The Illawarra Women's Football Association have launched a new web site. The club's Links section has been updated with the new address or you can click here to give the new site the once over.
