Thirroul Junior Football Club has more than 400 juniors in teams from Under 6s to Under 18s. The club's aim is to foster football by creating an environment for our Thunderbolts players where success is judged - not by winning - but by having fun, improving skills and participating in a club that is active within the community.

How long have you been playing and what was your first team?

JR: I started playing in in the under 10s for Albury Hotspurs

What was your first position

JR: I started on the right wing

Do you have a favourite sports team?

JR: Melbourne City

What impact do you think the World Cup will have on football in Australia?

JR: Women’s football has evolved so much in recent years and I think having such a major event here will create a lot more interest and hopefully encourage more young to join the sport

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grow up?

JR: I always wanted a job relating to sport or working outdoors but now I work in finance so that didn’t really work out

What is your go to pre-game meal?

JR: A pre-game coffee is essential

JR: Claytyn Gehrke would be too short for the challenges and Asha Meusburger would 100% win!

What piece of advice would you offer to Thirroul JFC junior players?

JR: Don’t be afraid to talk - or yell - on the field. Communication is one of the most important skills to learn
