The club's aim is to foster football by creating an environment for our Thunderbolts players where success is judged - not by winning - but by having fun, improving skills and participating in a club that is active within the community.

Mel Bond

The Brightest Star, The Warmest Flame, The Biggest Heart ...

Brad Walter

Melissa Jayne Bond was born on 4th May, 1990 at Wollongong Hospital. She was the third child, and only daughter, of Allen and Amanda Jane Bond.

She was educated at Thirroul Public School and Holy Spirit College, Bellambi.

Mel combined two her passions, sport and education, in her choice of career as a PDHPE teacher and completed her training at the University of Wollongong.

She began teaching in 2012 and demonstrated her commitment to Catholic education in both the Campbelltown and Wollongong areas. She truly loved her position at John Therry Catholic College at Rosemeadow.

In her leisure time, Mel enjoyed the company of her family and many friends. She participated in a variety of sports and most recently enjoyed her role as goalkeeper and captain of the Women's 3rd Division team at Thirroul Football Club.

Mel had a beautiful spirit. She loved life and embraced all opportunities. She showed kindness and compassion to all people.

She was truly loved by all her knew her.
